- A tenant will automatically qualify for civil legal aid if they on government welfare support and do not have any saved funds in excess of £8000.00
List of benefits that qualify for legal aid:
- (ESA) Income related employment and support
- (JSA) Income based jobseeker allowance
- Guaranteed state pension credit
- Payment from NASS in respect of immigration and asylum
- They earn no more than £2657.00 a year
- Tenants with children can earn £222.00 in addition to the £2657.00 for the fifth child and each additional child
- After all deductions have been made, the tenant cannot have a disposable income of more than £733.00 a month
